Rajshahi is to have a new University for Agriculture

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said her government is planning to establish an agriculture university in Rajshahi region for further strengthening agriculture research in the country. She said this when the newly-elected members of Sher-e-Bangla Agriculture University Teachers Association  led by its President Dr Alok Kumar Paul met her at her office yesterday. She underscored the need for intensive research at university level instead of focusing only on academic activities.  The PM said research is crucial as demand for food would not decline due to increase of population.
